A ThrEE-LetteR WorD

It's a word I've used since the day I could talk.
It's a word that epitomizes the dreams and hopes I imagined would become my reality by this point in time.
This word encompasses a love that is indescribable; a love that represents the special, unique bond shared between people.
It's been uttered from my mouth again and again- sometimes with happiness; other times with sadness; with anger; with gladness; in hopes of being consoled; and with a desire to know what I should do in times of great uncertainty.
No matter how many times it is said, its meaning and value never diminishes; it forever remains the title of the person lucky enough to respond to its call.
This word is more precious than diamonds; more valuable than all the money in the world,
For hearing it serves as a reminder that a person has been given "the world."
It's a word that represents a duty to love; to teach; to inspire; to comfort; to sacrifice.
In my life, no accomplishment to date; no job; no triumph, could ever surpass or outweigh the joy this word would bring to me.
To feel the love of God's children; to see their eyes gaze in my direction and utter the word I've longed to hear my whole life would complete my being and make me whole.
Someday, I hope this three-letter word will transform from a distant dream into a beautiful reality;
That Mom will be a word I have the privilege to respond to. There is no greater word.
Who would have thought that three letters would hold so much value?
