OnE of My NeW FavoritE SongS!!!!!
It's 2 a.m. here and it has been a long past couple of weeks to say the least. I'll write at another time to update this bloggy blog with the innermost details of my life. Okay, well maybe I won't share THOSE details, but I'll definitely update it with the latest happenings in my life.
I'm posting a link to a new song by Sara Bareilles. It is called, "Uncharted." I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song!!! I have adored this artist's songs in the past, but this song in particular, just hits an all new level of amazingness for me! The chorus of it has a beautiful melody, which makes me smile every time I hear it! And I think I love this song as much as I do because it relates to my life now more than ever. I am a BYU graduate and I'll be walking in the commencement ceremony this month on April 21st and 22nd! My future is not set and I am unsure of what it holds for me, yet I can take comfort in knowing that there is someone who is much wiser than me, who knows far better than I know or will ever know, what is best for my life.
Heavenly Father is charting my course and leading me to the destinations I need to arrive at in my life. He knows what lies in store for me even though I haven't the slightest clue. And it is in this sense that Sara Bareilles' song strikes me the most. I interpret her song to mean that life is uncharted, which as defined by the dictionary, means "not mapped." We may try to "map" our lives, but we never fully know what is in the cards for us in our futures. She says in the song, "I'm... out of foolproof ideas...," which goes along with the theme of the song. This song teaches us to take risks, step into the unknown, and learn from our mistakes. If any of us fall, we can get back up again only to be stronger for any other "falls" we may encounter. Let us never forget that our future is what we make of it. There is something so cool about not knowing what lies ahead of us in life. There are endless possibilities for us, which are waiting to be seized and used to their very last drops. There are people we will meet; accomplishments we will set out to do- some that we'll fail at; others that we'll enjoy immeasurable success from. Perhaps the message of "Uncharted" can be summed up best in the line of a different song by Natasha Bedingfield. Our futures really are "unwritten."
